You know that moment when you are talking with someone and you sense the connection is lost and the person has no interest in what you are saying? How about that time you were giving an introduction at a networking event and even though the words kept coming out, you felt disconnected from the passion and conviction about your value?
In those moments, your mental state is in high gear and if not checked can totally derail your interactions. Self-conscious thoughts of being judged or criticized take over. A “don’t be pushy, don’t brag” alert signal flashes in your mind and overrides your confidence in what you have to offer. You shrink inside yourself, wrap up what you were saying, and quickly get back to your seat or step away from the interaction.
What can you do to stop processing and analyzing and get back on track to confidently present your value in the way you want to?
Continuing with last week’s theme of getting back into our physical bodies, today’s 2-½ minute video, features three tips that will quickly change your focus and emotional state. Activating movement, breathing, and using visualization to flow energy to the hips will connect you to the physical center of strength in your body. Being in your power center brings you into your personal strength, in all senses of the word.
The suggestions in today’s video take just a few seconds and results can be seen and felt immediately. You will feel strong and centered and your interactions will flow naturally. People will connect to you and your words, your expression will be authentic, and the emotion and passion about what you are saying will be felt. You’ll be seen as genuine, authentic, and having integrity in your message and the products or services you are offering.
I invite you to watch this video and implement one of these suggestions the next time you are feeling self-conscious during an important interaction or conversation. Write a comment below or drop me a note and let me know which suggestion your tried and how it helped you to get back on track and move forward.
Until next time,
Cassie
